Bus Route Information

At High School Ahead Academy, we understand how important transportation is for our families.  Our students come from across the city.  Houston ISD provides bus service for all eligible students those living more than two miles from their zoned school, attending a magnet program like ours, living along a hazardous walking route, or qualifying under McKinney‑Vento. This includes students in regular and special education programs.

To request bus transportation:

  1. Scan the HISD Transportation QR Code sent home with your student or complete the survey or complete Survey | HISD Enrollment

  2. Contact our campus transportation coordinator—Ms. Annetta Randel arandel@houstonisd.org —if you have any concerns.

  3. HISD confirms eligibility & assigns a route
Eligible students will receive an assigned bus stop—typically within two miles of home (or three miles for magnet students)—and route information through email, phone call, and the online “Find My Route” tool. You'll need your child’s student ID.

  4. Stay informed about ride times
HISD is committed to keeping ride times under 80 minutes for magnet students. Parents will receive automated alerts for late buses and timely updates about routes and changes.

  5. Report any issues promptly
For concerns like unsafe stops, late buses, lost items, or missed pick-ups, contact the appropriate HISD bus terminal. If you are unsure about your bus terminal, please contact Ms. Randel at 713-696-2643 for more information.
